Angels Are All Around Us

Michael Simpson

I received this from a friend and found it so touching that I thought others might enjoy it.  Drilling down into the narrative a little further it could be assumed that the storyteller was the caregiver for her husband and the years they spent together are still on the surface of her emotion.

You might know others who would benefit from this tale and you Continue reading

Help Parents Transition to Becoming Elderly

Michael Simpson

At some point in time it happens and I don’t think it comes to us as an epiphany but in retrospect we see when it began and of course know where it is now.  I am talking about the journey when parents make the transition into aging loved ones and might need in home care.

The Operation – Going Home

Michael Simpson

This is the final installment of Michael’s journey into the American health care system.  The final video is at the end of the post.  Please comment on the series if you thought it was helpful or not.

Day Seven June 12th – The Road to Recovery.

This could also be titled “Let’s Blow This Pop Stand”.

This was my second day in CCU and was spent pretty much like the first.  My voice was gravelly due to irritation from the breathing tube and I spent most of my time worrying about how severe and long lasting the next coughing spell would be.  I would walk a little and sleep a lot but in the end I graduated from CCU and was moved into the general hospital.

I don’t know when I have been more mentally prepared to take the next step in a journey.  I was obsessed with getting discharged from the hospital and Continue reading
